The Johnstown Tomahawks invite all of Hawks Nation to watch the team as they play for the Robertson Cup starting this Friday, May 10 at 5:30 p.m. against the Fairbanks Ice Dogs!

Tomahawks, Ice Dogs Meet in Semi-Final

After securing the team's first -ever Robertson Cup tournament birth, the Johnstown Tomahawks will meet the Midwest Division champion, Fairbanks Ice Dogs, in a best-of-three Semi-Final series beginning May 10 at Fogerty Arena in Blaine, Minnesota.

Robertson Cup Background:

Once the four NAHL Divisional Playoff Champions are determined, clubs will be seeded 1-4 based upon their finish in the NAHL regular-season standings. The game schedule will be as follows:

The #1 Seed will face the #4 seed in a best of three series. The #2 seed will face the #3 seed in a best of three series.

The two series winners will advance to a one-game championship to determine the Robertson Cup National Champion.

Located in the interior of Alaska, the Fairbanks Ice Dogs have a long history of success at the Robertson Cup, winning three Cups and appearing in numerous tournaments.

The 2018-19 Ice Dogs are coached by Trevor Stewart, who is in his seventh season behind the bench for Fairbanks.

2019 Playoff Record: 6-0-0

Fairbanks skates into the Robertson Cup winners of six consecutive games, sweeping the Janesville Jets and the Minnesota Magicians in three games.

The Robertson Cup is awarded to the national playoff champion of the NAHL. The oldest junior hockey trophy in the United States, the Robertson Cup, is named in honor of Chuck Robertson, a pioneer of junior hockey in the NAHL and youth hockey in the state of Michigan.
