WASHINGTON MYSTICS JOIN SPALDING FOR BASKETBALL COURT DEDICATION AND WNBA FIT CLINIC FOR LOCAL YOUTH
WHO: Natasha Cloud
WHAT: The WNBA and Spalding have teamed up to build a basketball court for students in Washington D.C. On Tuesday, October 17, players from the Washington Mystics will visit Hendley Elementary School to dedicate the new court and host a WNBA FIT clinic for 100 local girls and boys. During the on court clinic Mystics players Natasha Cloud, Tayler Hill, Tianna Hawkins and Tierra Ruffin-Pratt will teach the values of the game such as hard work, discipline, leadership and teamwork while encouraging participants to be active, eat healthy and play together.
The court dedication is part of a series of events the WNBA and Spalding have hosted as part of the inaugural WNBA FIT Month in August. More than 300 youth have taken part in a four-clinic series led by WNBA clinicians as well as current and former players. The series featured basketball instruction and fitness programs, as well as complimentary WNBA tickets for participants.
