RAPTORS EARN SPLIT

After trading the lead back and forth early, the Raptors took the lead for good in the fifth in route to a 12-9 win to split the series Monday. With the contest tied in the fifth, Scott De Jong homered for the third straight day, giving Ogden a 5-4 lead. The visitors tacked on three in the sixth and four in the seventh, seemingly putting the game out of reach. The Voyagers stormed to within three in the eighth, pushing across five against the Raptor bullpen. In the frame, one run scored on an error, Dante Flores had an RBI single, and Johan Cruz belted a three-run double. However, that was as close as Great Falls got on the night.

CRUZIN' ALONG

Infielder Johan Cruz had his team-high 10-game hitting streak come to an end late last week, but has picked things right back up since, recording back-to-back multi-hit games. The 19-year old went 2-3 in Monday's loss, driving in a career-high five with two sacrifice flies and a three-run double. For the year, Cruz is now hitting .370, the highest batting average on the Voyagers, and seventh-highest in the league.

OFFENSE PICKING UP STEAM

The Voyagers followed up the season-high tying 17 hits that they knocked out on Sunday with 14 in Monday's loss. Eight of the starting nine for Great Falls had at least one base hit, including six who posted-multi-hit efforts as Johan Cruz, Zach Fish, Dante Flores, Jake Jarvis, Landon Lassiter, and Sikes Orvis had two knocks apiece. Monday's 14-hit effort boosted the Voyagers average to .304 for the eight-game homestand, which also saw Great Falls average 6.8 runs per game, while taking five of eight from Idaho Falls and Ogden. The Voyagers are now hitting .291 as a club, the fourth-highest in the PL.

LONG AND WINDING ROAD

Tonight's series opener in Ogden marks the beginning of a seven-game road trip for the Voyagers which will see them play three games at Lindquist Field, and four at Melaleuca Field in Idaho Falls. The seven-game trip also kicks off a stretch that will see Great Falls play 14 of their next 16, and 22 of their next 28 games outside of the Electric City, including only four homes games for the rest of July.
