VOYAGERS END SKID

The Voyagers ended their four-game losing skid Tuesday, beginning their seven-game road trip with a 6-4 win at Orem. With the Owlz leading 3-1 entering the fourth, Great Falls strung together six singles in a four-run inning to regain the lead. The first run scored on a wild pitch, Ethan Gross tied the game with a single, then Zach Fisher marked his return to the club with a two-run single that gave Great Falls a lead they did not relinquish. Louie Lechich added a solo homer in the fifth inning to cap the scoring.

HE'S BAAACK

After a five-game stint with Kannapolis (Low-A), catcher Zach Fisher made his return to the Voyagers lineup last night, picking up the two-run single in the fourth that gave Great Falls the lead for good. A 27th round pick by the White Sox in 2012, Fisher leads the Voyagers with 37 runs batted in, which is also tied for fifth-most in the Pioneer League this year.

BACK ON TRACK

After giving up four runs or more in three of his last four starts, Great Falls right-hander Dane Stone seemed to get back on the right track last night, giving up two earned runs in five innings while earning his team-leading fifth win. The Miami, Fla., native struck out six Owlz on the night, the most he has had in any one outing since he struck out six Ogden Raptors on July 16. Stone now leads the league in innings pitched this season with 60.0, and his ERA of 3.30 is the third-best among qualified starting pitchers.

BENGARD MAKES HISTORY

Working two scoreless innings to earn the save last night, Great Falls reliever Jon Bengard set a new Voyager record for saves in a single-season, recording his seventh of the year. The righty has now converted all seven of his save opportunities, and is tied for second in the league in saves. The Riverside, Calif., native now sports a 3.22 ERA in 16 appearances.
