Winston-Salem Dash News Release
The Chicago White Sox have announced the following roster moves affecting the Winston-Salem Dash:
- RHP Jason Van Skike (right knee) placed on seven-day disabled list
- INF Jake Brown promoted to Winston-Salem from rookie-level Bristol
Van Skike, who boasts a 2.80 earned run average in 30 appearances this season with Winston-Salem, was injured in Friday's series finale at Potomac. He collided with Nationals infielder Adrian Sanchez while trying to cover home plate after a passed ball in the second inning.
A 30th round pick in 2012 by the White Sox, Brown will be playing at the High-A level for the first time. He has seen action at both middle infield spots throughout his young minor league career and will provide depth up the middle for Winston-Salem. The Kansas State University product has split this season between Bristol and Kannapolis, hitting a combined .231 in 45 games between the B-Sox and the Intimidators.
