U.S. Soccer launches #FanWall social media campaign for USA-Mexico World Cup Qualifier
August 20, 2013 - Major League Soccer (MLS)
Columbus Crew SC News Release
U.S. Soccer launched a social media campaign today that provides fans with the opportunity to send personal messages and photos that will be displayed on the walls of the tunnel outside the U.S. Men's National Team locker room at Columbus Crew Stadium prior to the USA-Mexico match, presented by AT&T, on Sept. 10 in Columbus.
The walls of the tunnel are an exclusive area in the stadium only accessed by the team and credentialed staff. The fan-provided messages and photos will be the last thing the players and coaches see before entering the field for kickoff of the most anticipated MNT match of the year.
Fans can submit their messages and photos all this week using #FanWall, and are encouraged to come up with their most creative and patriotic ideas.

The sold-out match kicks off at 8 p.m. ET and will be broadcast live on ESPN, WatchESPN, UniMas and ESPN Deportes Radio. The tickets demand for this game was unprecedented, with more than twice as many requests than could be accommodated through U.S. Soccer's lottery phase.
The U.S. MNT, which is on a record 12-game winning streak, leads the Hexagonal with a 4-1-1 record and 13 points, followed by Costa Rica (3-1-2, 11 points) and Mexico (1-0-5, 8 points). The top three CONCACAF teams automatically qualify for the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil and the fourth-place team will face New Zealand in a playoff to determine the final spot.
The U.S. MNT resumes World Cup Qualifying against Costa Rica at 10 p.m. ET on Friday, Sept. 6 at Estadio Nacional in San Jose (beIN SPORT, ESPN Deportes Radio). Fans can follow USA matches on ussoccer.com's MatchTracker and on Twitter @ussoccer.
