Tulsa Oilers News Release

Nothing beats getting together with old friends and the Tulsa Oilers are putting together the greatest class reunion Tulsa has ever seen. On August 23rd the Oilers will be hosting an alumni game at the Oilers Ice Center (64th and Mingo) at 7:00 PM.

Even former National Hockey League players are now lining up for the Tulsa Oilers alumni game.

Former Oiler players Craig Coxe, Larry Hopkins-who both played in the NHL- and others have now added their names of list of players who will play in the game on Saturday August 23rd at 7 p.m. at the Oilers Ice Center, located at 64th and Mingo. Coxe is noted for scoring the first regular season goal for the San Jose Sharks, as well as his years of tough physical play.

"We've been contacting players, and as word has spread, they have been some of our best recruiters," Oilers general manager Taylor Hall (who is also a former Oiler player and will play in the game) said. "We're seeing a lot of enthusiasm for this game from our fans and the players. It's kind of hard to tell who's more excited, the fans about seeing the old players, or the players about coming back and getting together with everyone."

The game will feature Oiler greats from the past such as Sly Naud, Luc Beausoleil, Don MacIver, Doug Lawrence, Tom Karalis and many more. Fans will be able to recall great memories such as the Oiler championships in 1984 and 1993.

Players will be available for autographs, pictures and to reminisce with fans about favorite games and memorable moments. Following the game there will be a party and reception for fans to mingle with players.

Tickets for the alumni game and reception following are $10 for Tulsa Oilers season ticket holders and $15 for non season ticket holders. For more information call the Oilers at 918-632-7825.
