Montreal Alouettes News Release

Montreal - The Montreal Alouettes returned to Percival Molson Memorial Stadium on Monday at the Mise-o-jeu training camp, as Mike Sherman's team took part in consecutive practices where it will host the Hamilton Tiger-Cats for a pre-season game on June 9.

The team offered a constant effort for a little over four hours before returning to headquarters for film review that will lead to improvements on the field. The intensity was high once again and the players were vocal when long plays were completed.

"The guys were very focused today and detail-oriented. I believe we got better as a team and that we took a step in the right direction," said Alouettes defensive back Mitchell White.

Guest quarterback

As is the case every year, the Alouettes have invited a quarterback from the Canadian University ranks to training camp. This year, the University of Waterloo Warriors quarterback Tre Ford will take part in team meetings and practice.

Quick hits

All the Alouettes were given a t-shirt featuring the training camp motto "Earn your wings", reminding them of their number one goal: earning a spot on the roster... Quarterback Matt Shiltz completed a nice pass of just over 30 yards to B.J. Cunningham and got all of his teammates riled up... Defensive back Dondre Wright was on a mission today as he was all over the field, covering a lot of territory, and making the offence's work difficult at times... A nice chemistry is beginning to settle between quarterback Drew Willy and receiver B.J. Cunningham as the receiver caught many long passes from Willy during Day 2... Cornerback Tommie Campbell intercepted a long pass at the start of practice and showcased his speed by returning it on a long distance... Rookie defensive back Justin Gibbons pilfered two passes and just goes about his business in his first CFL camp... Antonio Pipkin hooked up with receiver Jack Bramswig in tight coverage up the middle.
