Toronto FC Set to Open Eastern Conference Semifinals with New York

TORONTO FC SET TO OPEN EASTERN CONFERENCE SEMIFINALS WITH NEW YORK RED BULLS ON MONDAY

Toronto FC will face the New York Red Bulls in the Eastern Conference semifinals of the 2017 Audi MLS Cup Playoffs with the first leg set for Monday, October 30 at Red Bull Arena with kick-off at 7:00 p.m. ET. The match will broadcast on TSN 4 in Canada and FS1 in the United States. The return leg at BMO Field on Sunday, November 5 will kick-off at 3:00 p.m. ET.

Toronto FC and the New York Red Bulls met twice during the 2017 MLS Regular Season. The first match ended in a 1-1 draw on May 19 at Red Bull Arena, when Benoit Cheyrou tied the match in the 70th minute. In the second match, TFC defeated the Red Bulls 4-2 at BMO Field on September 30 powered by a Justin Morrow hat trick. Toronto FC trails in the all-time series with the Red Bulls with a record of 8-13-7 (W-L-T); this will mark the first time the clubs have met in the MLS Cup Playoffs.

The winners will advance to the 2017 Audi MLS Cup Eastern Conference Finals, also a two-leg series, scheduled for Tuesday, November 21 and Tuesday, November 28 or Wednesday, November 29. The 2017 MLS Cup is scheduled for Saturday, December 9 at 4:00 p.m. ET.
