JASON BENT - HEAD COACH, TORONTO FC II
Other than the scoreline, what were the differences between the two sides? It t was one of those games where we came in at halftime, we were down 2-0 and in terms of the way we bounced, it was probably one of our better passing displays. I thought we created a number of chances, we knew they were going to be a threat on the counter attack. They hit us with 2 sucker punches at the first half, that gave us a hit back for sure. Quick on the counter, very direct. That was definitely disappointing for us, we were trying to get a clean sheet, but we were nowhere close to that tonight.
One of the calls in the first half where the linesman put the flag up, but the goal was still given, what happened there? She was radioing through her microphone to tell the referee offside but he overruled her and said our defender played the ball, so therefore the player couldn't be offside. It was one of those where we scratched our heads a bit, because she was calling for the offside I could hear her. The goal was then given and then 2-0, it was an uphill battle from that point.
A couple academy players played today, Okello makes his debut, how do you think they did? Excellent, Okello's first pass was a 40 dart right on the money, showing no signs of his nerves. It was nice to give him a taste of it. I thought Michael was excellent in his positioning tonight, his use of the ball was fantastic. I thought Danny Da Silva had some moments for himself making his first debut. Some positive things tonight. Overall I thought it was a very good performance from the young players.
NOBLE OKELLO - MIDFIELDER, TORONTO FC II Congrats on your debut, what were your feelings going in? I was buzzing, I was excited to go in. It's always been a dream of mine to play for Toronto FC. To make my debut at such a young age it felt good.
You can see your confidence on your first pass, talk us through your first pass? I just came into the game trying to impact it in some way - I got on the ball and tried to make something happen.
It's never easy to lose, what positives can you take away from the game? I felt like I was able to make passes when I came in, I feel that I can work more on my defensive play. I thought overall I did okay.
