Tomahawks Take 4 of 6 Points Against Generals

Two Hawks Earn Division Star Honorable Mentions

The Tomahawks hosted the Northeast Generals for a three game series between October 25th and 27th.

The Hawks won two of the three games, taking a 3-2 victory on Friday and 4-3 win on Sunday. Saturday saw the Hawks lose 3-1.

Taking four of six points boosted the Tomahawks into 2nd place in the East Division, one point ahead of the WBS Knights and four points behind the New Jersey Titans.

Forward Spencer DenBeste and goaltender David Tomeo earned honorable mentions from the NAHL in the latest Bauer East Division Star of the Weeek report.

Congratulations are due to forward Drew Murphy for scoring his first NAHL goal on Sunday. It was Undies Sunday, so his goal sent underwear flying onto the ice. We can't think of a more memorable way to bag your first!

TUESDAY'S WORD:

"Obviously, we know that 3 in 3s are tough tasks throughout the season, so itw as important for us to come out on the winning side of the weekend, which we did with a gritty win on Sunday.

I thought we had some really good spurts of hockey, and then some times that we needed to reduce and work to eliminate. Playing the same team 3 times over 2.5 days can sometimes lead to those ups and downs.

Ultimately, I think if we were able to cash in on more of our opportunities, we may have found ourselves ina better position to take all 6 points.

We wil bring a tighther focus this week to practice as we head to Maryland for two very big games before returning for another 3 in 3 next week with the Jamestown Rebels."

- Mike Letizia, Head Coach

UP NEXT: BACK TO THE BEARS DEN

The Tomahawks are hitting the road for a two game series against the Maryland Black Bears on November 1st and 2nd. As always, fans can tune in with a subscription to HockeyTV, or follow along on NAHL.com and the NAHL app.

The last time these two teams played, Johnstown swept the series in Maryland. The Hawks outscored the Black Bears in the series 9-2.

Fans should keep their eyes on Spencer DenBeste, who put up three goals over the last three games. On the other side of the bench, Wilmer Skoog of the Black Bears has a commanding points lead over the rest of the skaters in the NAHL with 23 off of 9 goals and 14 assists. To say he's a key members of the Maryland offense is quite the understatement.

Maryland sits at 6th place in the division with 13 points and has scored as many goals as they've given up on the season. The Tomahawks have a +5 differential, and their 58 goals are the 2nd best in the league (trailing Jamestown's 66).

DID YOU KNOW? The Maryland Black Bears, located in Odenton, MD, became the first team in the NAHL's 42-year history to be based in Maryland when they entered the league in 2018.
