Tomahawks Fall in Game One in Double Overtime
April 22, 2022 - North American Hockey League (NAHL) - Johnstown Tomahawks News Release
The Johnstown Tomahawks suffered a double overtime loss to the Jamestown Rebels in game one of the Robertson Cup East Division Semifinals by a final score of 2-1.
Lukas Klemm scored the opening goal just 54 seconds into the game for the Rebels as Tomahawks netminder Matt O'Donnell was caught beside the net, leaving an open shot for Klemm to tuck it away. O'Donnell responded with a handful of great saves, keeping Jamestown's lead limited to one after the 1st period.
After a lot of back and forth play in the 2nd period, Cole Bianchin finally got Johnstown on the board 11:15 in, knotting the game at one. Jamestown went scoreless in the middle frame, sending us into the final 20 minutes tied at 1.
After a scoreless 3rd period, game one between Jamestown and Johnstown was headed to overtime. Jamestown would come away with the winning goal in double overtime as Kolby Amici put it away for the Rebels.
Game two will be held tomorrow, Friday, April 22 at 1ST SUMMIT ARENA at 7:00 PM.
