WUERFEL PARK-- With only 12 home games remaining, the Traverse City Beach Bums look forward to opening up their final six-game homestand of the 2011 season! A three-game series against the Rockford RiverHawks August 23-25, followed by a three-game set against the division rival Windy City Thunderbolts August 26-28 set the stage for the Beach Bums to make their run to the Frontier League playoffs.

With the Beach Bums are currently only a game and a half out of the playoff picture, a successful homestand could see the team put themselves in the driver's seat to make the playoffs! The Beach Bums need your support now more than ever so don't miss the excitement at Wuerfel Park this week. Don't miss your chance to see the Beach Bums at Wuerfel Park in 2011 before it's too late!

Game one against the Rockford RiverHawks opens the homestand with Two for Tuesday at 7:05 p.m. With the purchase of every chairback ticket you get a second one absolutely FREE! Be sure to invite all your friends and family to enjoy a great night at the ballpark and take advantage of this great deal!

On Wednesday, the Beach Bums celebrate What's Up Wednesday - Back to School Night! It's that time of year again when kids are headed back to school for another year. Make sure you visit Wuerfel Park to receive the official Beach Bums backpack for kids 12 years of age and under. Get everything you need to start off the school year right!

Join us for Thirsty Thursday brought to you by the Traverse City Record Eagle on August 25. The first fans through the gate receive a baseball shaped maraca courtesy of the Record Eagle. Keep an eye out for the Record Eagle mascot as there will be sightings around the park all night long. Don't forget that every Thursday night is also for great drink specials to help you quench your thirst for a drink and your thirst for baseball! Fans will receive $1.00 off on fountain drinks and beer all night long!

On August 26, the Windy City Thunderbolts come to town for FANtastic Fireworks Friday, and Senior Games presented by Priority Health. FANtastic Firework Fridays are a night you won't want to miss! After a great game of baseball there is an incredible fireworks show -- what an excellent way to end a wonderful night! Come out and join us!

On Saturday, help the Beach Bums welcome the Elvis on Celebrity Saturday night for the third year in a row. Be sure to Shake, Rattle and Roll your way to Wuerfel Park to watch Elvis Tribute Artist Jake Slater performs live during pregame and postgame at the ballpark. Make sure you make it to Wuerfel Park early, as Elvis should take the stage at approximately 6:15 p.m.

The homestand concludes with Family Funday Sunday sponsored by Auto Owners Insurance and Larkin Group on August 28! The first 500 fans through the gate receive a Frisbee courtesy of Larkin Group and Auto Owners Insurance. Kids, 12 years of age and younger, receive half off their chairback ticket with the purchase of an adult chairback ticket at full price. Kids ages five through 12 are invited to run the bases after the game, but children must be able to go out on the field without their parents. Don't forget to bring your glove, a baseball, or other memorabilia you want signed by the Beach Bums because every Sunday the entire team will be available to sign autographs after the game in front of the clubhouse!
