PORTLAND, Ore. - The Portland Timbers today announced their preseason schedule for the 2018 MLS campaign, with the Timbers set to play six matches as part of the team's preseason camp in Tucson, Ariz.

The Timbers will travel to Tucson on Tuesday, Jan. 23, and will begin preseason training at the Kino Sports Complex. While in Tucson, the Timbers will play six matches over two stints, including three as part of the 2018 Mobile Mini Sun Cup hosted by FC Tucson and Phoenix Rising FC. The Mobile Mini Sun Cup will feature 11 matches with MLS clubs, marking the most games played during the annual preseason event in Arizona.

As part of the Mobile Mini Sun Cup, the Timbers will face Cascadia-rival Seattle Sounders FC on Saturday, Feb. 3, before taking on FC Dallas on Saturday, Feb. 17, at the Kino Sports Complex. On Saturday, Feb. 24, the Kino Sports Complex will host the first through fourth place matches, rounding out the 2018 Mobile Mini Sun Cup.

Portland's preseason campaign in Tucson will occur in two phases, with the Timbers set to first spend Jan. 23-Feb. 4 in Arizona, competing in two preseason games before returning to Portland to train for one week.

The Timbers will play their first match of the preseason against the San Jose Earthquakes on Wednesday, Jan. 31, before taking on Sounders FC on Saturday, Feb. 3, as part of the Mobile Mini Sun Cup. Upon returning to Tucson on Feb. 12 for the second phase of preseason, Portland will also compete against the Houston Dynamo on Wednesday, Feb. 14, before taking on the New York Red Bulls on Wednesday, Feb. 21.

The Timbers will return to Portland on Sunday, Feb. 25, to begin their final preparations for the 2018 MLS campaign, which begins Sunday, March 4, as the Timbers travel to take on the LA Galaxy at the StubHub Center in Carson, Calif.
