Tiger-Cats & Lou's Kitchen to Donate 3,200 Pounds of Food to Purolator's Tackle Hunger Program

February 27, 2020 - Canadian Football League (CFL) - Hamilton Tiger-Cats News Release

The Hamilton Tiger-Cats, in partnership with Lou's Kitchen, will be making a 3,200 pound donation of meat to Hamilton Food Share to supply local food banks on Friday, February 28 in support of Purolator's Tackle Hunger program.

Last season, the Tiger-Cats and Lou's Kitchen collaborated on a new community initiative designed to give back to those in need across TigerTown. For every sack the Ticats defence recorded at Tim Hortons Field in 2019 (32 at home, 54 on the season), Lou's Kitchen donated 100 pounds of food to the Purolator Tackle Hunger initiative, supporting local food banks in Hamilton.

"Lou's Kitchen is proud to partner with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats and provide 3,200 pounds of delicious, fully-cooked meat products to Canadian food banks," said Dan Davies, President TMF Foods. "This year we look forward to executing the program again and achieving more sack goals during the Tiger-Cats season."

Since its inception in 2003, the Purolator Tackle Hunger program has helped deliver more than 13 million pounds of food to food banks across Canada, and Tiger-Cats Fans and Partners always help lead the CFL in donations each season.
