Trenton Thunder News Release

TRENTON, NJ - Trenton used a four-run 4th inning to jump out in front of the Erie SeaWolves, but 10 unanswered runs by the "˜Wolves gave Erie a comfortable 11-4 victory Monday night at ARM & HAMMER Park.

Starting pitcher Shane Greene allowed six runs in five innings, but only four were earned. Greene allowed one run in the first inning, but didn't allow another until the 5th inning. At that point, he had been staked to a three-run lead, but was not able to hold it. The SeaWolves used three hits, an error, a hit-by-pitch and a walk to score their five runs to take a 6-4 lead from which they wouldn't look back.

All the runs Trenton scored in the ballgame came in the 4th inning. Tyler Austin, Kyle Roller, Carmen Angelini and Andrew Clark connected for back-to-back-to-back-to-back singles to score a pair of runs and put runners at first and second base and one out. Following a pop-out by Reegie Corona, Jose Pirela stroked a double to left-centerfield to plate both runners and complete the scoring in the inning. Trenton led the game 4-1 at that point, but the next half inning Erie snatched back the lead once-and-for-all.

The Thunder continue their three-games series Tuesday against the Erie SeaWolves. The game features a starting pitcher on a Major League rehab appearance with the Yankees RHP Michael Pineda. The 2011 American League All-Star missed the entire 2012 season after undergoing shoulder surgery on May 1, 2012. He was 9-10 with a 3.74 ERA with the Seattle Mariners in 2011 and will face Erie's RHP Victor Larez (6-3, 4.89).

Limited tickets are available through the Thunder box office at (609) 394-3300 or online at www.trentonthunder.com/tickets. Radio coverage on 91.3 FM (WTSR) and also streaming online begins at 6:45 p.m.
