Thunder set to open training camp Monday

WICHITA, KS- The Wichita Thunder will open training camp for their 14th CHL season on Monday and Tuesday, with a pair of practices each day at the Wichita Ice Center.

The Thunder will practice on Monday from 10:00-11:30 a.m., then again from 3:00-4:30 p.m. On Tuesday, the Thunder will practice from 9:00-10:30 a.m., followed by a scrimmage from 1:15-3:15 p.m. CHL linesmen George LaForce and Dennis Mercer will officiate the Thunder scrimmage. All practices are free of charge and open to the public.

The Thunder will play a pair of exhibition games on Thursday and Friday, October 13th and 14th at the Memphis RiverKings. Both games will face-off at 7:05 p.m. and real-time scoring will be available at www.pointstreak.com.

The Thunder currently have 21 players signed for the upcoming season under new head coach Mark French, including returning stars Jason Duda, Travis Clayton and Joe Blaznek. The Thunder will open the season with a pair of home games on Friday, October 21st versus the Odessa Jackalopes and Saturday, October 22nd versus the Oklahoma City Blazers.

Tickets for all Thunder games, ranging from just $8 to $16 each, will go on sale Wednesday, October 12th. Season tickets will be available for pick up on Monday, October 10th.
