Thunder Reassigned Defenseman Nathan Deck

STOCKTON, Calif. - The Stockton Thunder, proud ECHL affiliate of the Edmonton Oilers of the National Hockey League, announced defenseman Nathan Deck has been reassigned to the Thunder from the Oklahoma City Barons of the American Hockey League.

Oklahoma City is the AHL affiliate of the Thunder and Oilers. Deck, 23, is expected to be available for Game 3 of the Western Conference Final between the Thunder and Idaho Steelheads on Wednesday at Stockton Arena, beginning at 7:00 p.m. (1280 AM KWSX/StocktonThunder.com).

The 5-foot-11 and 185 pound blueliner has racked up 22 points in 28 games with the Thunder this season and last left for the AHL on Mar. 21 tied for the team lead with a +8 rating. He has also collected eight points in 33 AHL games with the Barons this season.

In 88 career ECHL games with Stockton, Deck has earned 48 points and posted a +18 rating. He was a part of last year's team that advanced to the second round of the Kelly Cup Playoffs after sweeping Colorado in the opening round. Deck received the Thunder "Unsung Hero" award last season as a rookie and previously totaled 118 points and 198 penalty minutes in 277 career junior games in the Western Hockey League with Vancouver and Prince Albert.

Deck was originally signed by the Thunder as a free agent on Aug. 4, 2011 and was signed to a two-way AHL contract with Oklahoma City on Feb. 19, 2013.

The Thunder leads the best-of-seven Western Conference Final, 2-0 over Idaho.

A two time recipient of the ECHL "Award of Excellence," the Thunder led the ECHL in attendance for four consecutive seasons and drew over 200,000 fans for the seventh consecutive season in 2011-12.
