Wichita Thunder News Release

North Richland Hills, TX (November 11th) - The Wichita (6-4-1) offense erupted after being held in check on Saturday night, scoring five unanswered goals and coming out of the NYTEX Sports Centre with a 6-2 victory over the Fort Worth Brahmas (2-5-2) on Sunday afternoon. Greger Hanson recorded his fourth multi-point game of the season while newcomer Les Reaney collected three points to pace the Thunder. Wichita has won four-out-of-their last five games and will be off until next Friday night when they host Quad City.

Fort Worth got on the board first halfway through the opening period as Adam Hogg intercepted a pass at the Thunder line, came down on a two-on-one and put it over the shoulder of Torrie Jung to make it 1-0. Two minutes later, Wichita tied the game at one on a goal from Reaney from the top of the left circle. At 14:57, Reaney scored his second of the game to give the Thunder a 2-1 lead. Nathan Lutz stole the puck on the right corner wall, found Reaney in the slot and put it under the glove of Larry Sterling.

In the second period, Wichita scored three times in less than eight minutes to grab a 5-1 lead. After his penalty expired, Dave Inman made it 3-1 at 9:55 as his wrist shot found its way past Sterling. Brad Fogal came on in relief and didn't fair much better as Hanson scored his fifth of the season at 17:23 off a rebound from RG Flath to make it 4-1. 27 seconds later, Hanson peeled around the Fort Worth net and found Summers who made it 5-1 with fifth of the season.

The Brahmas tried to rally back into the game as they added a power play goal in the third from Tomas Klempa at 4:29. Neil Trimm made sure that was short-lived as he snuck behind the Brahmas defense, caught a long outlet pass from Chad Painchaud and scored on a break-a-way to make it 6-2 with two minutes left.

Wichita has allowed the first goal for the fourth-straight game, but was able to come back and win. Hanson finished with two points (1g, 1a) while Les Reaney recorded his first two goals in Thunder blue and had three points (2g, 1a) on the night. Flath is one assist shy of reaching 100 for his career after recording a helper on the Hanson goal. Torrie Jung earned his third win of the season, making 21 saves on 23 shots.

Wichita went 0-for-4 on the power play while the Brahmas were 1-for-7.

Wichita returns to home-ice on Friday, November 16th against the Quad City Mallards and Saturday, November 17th against the Arizona Sundogs. For tickets, call 755-SEAT, visit the INTRUST Bank Arena box office or online at www.selectaseat.com .
