Jacksonville Armada FC News Release

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (Feb. 13, 2017) - The Jacksonville Armada FC announced the addition of three matches to the preseason schedule.

Preseason training is underway after the announcement of four returning players and two new players to the 2018 roster.

"As we build out our schedule of games for the next few months it's important we focus on opposition that offers the challenges we need to develop, but also games that raise awareness throughout the city," said head coach Mark Lowry. "I think we have achieved that. We are ready and excited for the challenges ahead and can't wait to get back on the field in front of our fans."

The team travels south Thursday for the first preseason match against Montverde Academy in Montverde, Fla. at 5 p.m. The teams drew 1-1 in the preseason in 2017. The match will take place at the Academy and is free and open to the public.

The Armada FC will then travel to St. Augustine on Monday, Feb. 26 for a matchup with Flagler College at 7 p.m. Ticket information will be announced at a later date. Jacksonville dominated the team 5-0 in the 2017 preseason.

On Wednesday, March 14 the team will face local collegiate team, the University of North Florida, at Hodges Stadium at 2 p.m. The match will also be free and open to the public. In the 2017 preseason, the clubs fought to a scoreless draw at Hodges Stadium.

The Armada FC previously announced the club's participation in the Suncoast Invitational against D.C. United of the MLS on Feb. 21.

The complete preseason schedule and 2018 NPSL schedule will be announced at a later date.
