Thorns FC Sign Goalkeeper Bella Geist as National Team Replacement Player

PORTLAND, Ore. - Portland Thorns FC have signed goalkeeper Bella Geist as a National Team Replacement player, it was announced today.
Geist, 22, will serve as a national team replacement for goalkeeper Adrianna Franch, who was named to the U.S. Women's National Team's training camp roster ahead of the Tournament of Nations. Geist was the 29th overall pick (third round) by Portland in the 2018 NWSL College Draft out of Oregon State.
National Team Replacement players can be signed when a national team player is away on international duty and will not count against the team's 20-player roster limit.
