The Saskatchewan Rush Welcome: Bret the Hitman Hart Friday March

March 15, 2017 - National Lacrosse League (NLL) - Saskatchewan Rush News Release

Saskatoon- The Saskatchewan Rush are thrilled to announce that WWE Hall of Famer and Canadian Sports Icon, BRET, 'THE HITMAN' HART will be making an appearance at the next home game on Friday, March 24th versus the Calgary Roughnecks.

Along with the ceremonial ball drop, Bret is set to co-host the Lacrosse Out Bullying half time event alongside Rush in-game announcer Mike McGuire.  The event will focus on delivering a positive message to the youth in attendance while encouraging all fans to take the Anti-Bullying Pledge.

Bret has strong ties to Saskatchewan as his father, Stu Hart, a reciprocate of the Order of Canada, was born in Saskatoon.  Many of Bret's 'firsts' also came in Saskatoon including his Stampede Wrestling debut in 1978 and his first WWF World Heavyweight Championship Title in 1992.

To mark the occasion, beginning Wednesday, March 22nd, the team will be selling commemorative Rush/Bret Hart t-shirts for $30 with a portion of the sales going to Anti Bullying programs in Saskatchewan.

"Bret Hart is a Canadian sports legend and a true gentlemen of the sport. Together, with Rush Nation we are going to celebrate his amazing career and help raise awareness of our Lacrosse Out Bullying night. After all, he was the best there is, the best there was and the best there ever will be." - Rush Owner Bruce Urban
