KANSAS CITY, Kan. - The Kansas City T-Bones (8-7) capitalized on strong pitching and early offense to defeat the Winnipeg Goldeyes (11-4), 6-2, tonight at CommunityAmerica Ballpark.

With 3,009 in attendance, Kansas City jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first against Ben Pfinsgraff (2-2), plating the first run on a solo shot from Damian Rolls. Following three straight singles, Craig Hurba drove in Greg Jacobs with a sacrifice fly to cap off the frame.

Cory Patton doubled off Chris Rhoads (2-0) in the second and later scored on a groundout by Cody Ehlers to pull Winnipeg within one. Following a fielder's choice and a single in the bottom of the inning, Rolls doubled in the T-Bones third run of the contest to push the T-Bones lead back to two. After a wild pitch scored Aharon Eggleston, Jacobs plated Rolls with a sacrifice fly for a 5-1 advantage.

Rolls added an RBI single in the fourth to finish the scoring for Kansas City. Pfinsgraff left after four and two-thirds innings, allowing six runs, four earned, on 12 hits in the loss.

Juan Diaz hit an RBI single in the fifth to give Winnipeg their final tally of the game. Rhoads left after six and two-thirds innings, earning the victory after surrendering two runs on nine hits while striking out six. Payton Tweddale replaced the right-hander with two on in the seventh and struck out the only batter he faced to end the threat.

Blair Johnson entered in the eighth and loaded the bases after a quick out with a single, hit batter and walk. He worked out of the jam, inducing an infield fly and groundout to maintain Kansas City's four-run lead.

Daniel Sattler threw a perfect ninth to finish the game. Rolls went three-for-four on the night with three RBI. He fell a triple shy of the cycle. Jacobs finished three-for-four with two doubles in his season debut.
