T-Birds Looking to Straighten Up & Fly Right
The Winston-Salem T-Birds were not sorry to see January finally come to an end. It was a frustrating month for the Birds as the team struggled to a 2-12 record. Now that the groundhog has seen his shadow, the T-Birds are now hoping for six weeks of good hockey. The Winston-Salem squad begins play in the South East Hockey League this week in second place with a record of 16 wins and 20 losses which is good for 32 points in the standings. The T-Birds are 24 points behind the first place Huntsville Channel Cats and only four points ahead of both Cape Fear and Knoxville.
The week ahead features three games, including two at the Joel Coliseum Annex on Thursday & Saturday night. Friday night, the T-Birds travel to Fayetteville to play Cape Fear.
