SwampDogs to Host 7th Annual Trunk Or Treat at "The Swamp"

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C., - The Fayetteville SwampDogs, in partnership with Operation Ceasefire, have announced they will host the 7th Annual Trunk or Treat at "The Swamp" on Friday, October 25th from 5-7pm. J.P. Riddle Stadium will be home to a safe, fun, family friendly Halloween-fest open to the public.

All kids in attendance will have the opportunity to visit many decorated cars and fun people with trunks filled with candy! Many unique Halloween experiences all in one fun area!

From 5-7pm the concourse with be filled with costumes, decorations, games and music to create a fun-filled evening for kids and adults. Come in costume for the ultimate Halloween, a little early this year! Everyone in attendance is invited to stay for a family friendly spooky movie. "Hotel Transylvania" will start at dusk.

Whether you're a monster, devil, witch, or a superhero striking fear into evil villains, stop by to visit and pick up a few extra Halloween treats a little early. Fun-Go and friends will be on hand to welcome ghouls and goblins of all sorts. Stick around following the fun for a costume contest.

"This has become the place to be in Fayetteville, the Friday before Halloween," said SwampDogs General Manager Jeremy Aagard. "It's a special opportunity for us to welcome the community to "The Swamp" for this yearly extravaganza. For us to be a part of a great event like this helps us appreciate, even further, the tremendous community in which we live."

The Fayetteville SwampDogs are a proud member of the Coastal Plain League, entering their 14th season in the nation's hottest summer collegiate baseball league. Celebrating its 18th season in 2014, the CPL features 14 teams playing in North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia. The CPL gives college players the chance to refine their skills with the use of wooden bats. Players are housed with local host families for the summer and past experiences have been very positive for both players and hosts. Furthermore, the CPL has had over 1,100 alumni drafted and 64 alums - including 2011 AL MVP and Cy Young winner Justin Verlander - make their Major League debut thus far.
