NEW ORLEANS, LA (October 5, 2010) - 2010 AFL stat-leader, WR/DB PJ Berry (6'0", 195, Virginia State) has been assigned to the 2011 New Orleans VooDoo.

Berry, a high-powered receiver and kick returner from the 2010 Bossier-Shreveport BattleWings was assigned to the New Orleans VooDoo to play for his mentor, Head Coach Derek Stingley. For the entire 2010 season, PJ Berry battled to remain atop the standings for receiving and all-purpose yardage, finishing the season ranked in the top 10 in both categories, even missing three games throughout the season. He was a standout as a member of the Virginia State Trojan football team and received several honors for his performance on the field. According to Berry, he is "Superman" and is one of the more charismatic members of the AFL.

VooDoo officials said of his signing, "PJ is one of those guys that turns football fans into arena football fans. He has so much talent on the field. When you're watching PJ, you never know when his next play is going to be a highlight so you can never take your eyes off of him. We are definitely excited to see PJ in New Orleans. We believe that he is going to be a playmaker and a fan favorite on and off the field."
