Greenville Drive News Release
The Bombers have a sensational series against the Rome Braves this Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Capital City Stadium will be abuzz with dogs and scouts, funny characters, and motherly love while the Bombers host their Braves-affiliated foes.
Friday, May 9th, 7:05pm
It's "Bring Your Dog Night!" Yes, canine friends (on a leash, please) are welcomed as free guests of their human counterparts for this fourth annual "Bark in the Park." Water bowls and scoops & baggies will be available, of course. Last year we topped 100 dogsâlet's see "Who Let the Dogs Out" on the way to a new record!
Friday will also be a new partnership venture for the Bombers and the Boy Scouts of America, with the first Boy Scout Sleepover night. Following the game, over 150 scouts will set up camp in the stadium outfield. The premise is nothing new for the team, as the Bombers are also preparing for the 4th Annual Girl Scout Sleepover (5/23).
Saturday, May 10th, 7:05pm
Get ready, Columbia, the Zooperstars are coming! One of the most popular sports entertainment acts in the country makes its first stop in the Midlands this weekend. They're hilarious animal characters with a spin on familiar sports names, like Clammy Sosa, Ken Giraffey, Jr., Harry Canary, and Tiger Woodschuck...you get the idea. You've seen them on SportsCenter, but you must see them in person, when BellSouth presents the Zooperstars!
Sunday, May 11th, 2:05pm
The Bombers salute Mother's Day with flowers for the ladies, thanks to Rosewood Florist. Enjoy a beautiful Sunday afternoon at the ballpark with Mom!
THE ROME BRAVES
An affiliate of the Atlanta Braves, Rome brings in its share of quality prospects and familiar names. Former USC Gamecock Yaron Peters and Clemson football recruit Jeff Francoeur are among the Braves coming to town. Francoeur passed on the Tigers and set a new Braves record with his $2.2 million signing bonus. Also look for Jonathan Schuerholz, son of the Atlanta General Manager.
DON'T FORGET...the Bombers are also home tonight (Thursday) against the South Georgia Waves, 7:05pm. "Good Seats for Good Samaritans" discount admission with canned food or cleaning supplies for SisterCare, Inc.
