January 11, 2020 - Indoor Football League (IFL) - San Diego Strike Force News Release

SAN DIEGO, California - The Strike Force have added Chris Bonta to their coaching staff in prep for the 2020 Indoor Football League Season.

Bonta joins the Strike Force with eleven years of coaching experience. He has spent the last four years working with Strike Force Defensive Coordinator Derek Dhalen with the Lijufa International Bowl (LIB) which took place in December in Tijuana, Mexico. The LIB features top high school senior athletes from over 20 countries.

Last season, Bonta was the defensive coordinator and linebacker coach at Trinity International University in Deerfield, Illinois. From 2017-19, he served as the assistant head coach and defensive coordinator for Vista High School where he helped the Panthers to their first winning season in over ten years.

"Coach Bonta is another strong addition to our coaching staff with experience working with athletes at multiple levels," said Strike Force General Manager Ryan Eucker. "His chemistry with our existing coaches and diverse experience in honing players in on their technique will be a great compliment as we work as a team to develop our guys and get them looks at the next level."

Prior to his time in Vista, Bonta also worked with the San Diego Stars and Stripes serving as the defensive coordinator and linebacker coach where he helped to build relationships with players and coaches in other countries through football. Due to his work with the Stars and Stripes Chris was offered the opportunity to be the defensive coordinator for the Tecos Fútbol Club out of Tijuana, Mexico. He helped guide them to an undefeated championship season with the No. 1 ranked defense in Mexico.

A San Diego Native, Bonta graduated from California State University, San Marcos with a Bachelor's of Science in Mathematics in 2009 and National University with his Master's in Educational Leadership in 2016.
