Streak Continues Past Sioux City

December 12, 2017 - United States Hockey League (USHL) - Omaha Lancers News Release

Sioux City, IA -- The Omaha Lancers continued the weekend with another road trip to face the Sioux City Musketeers Saturday night. The Lancers continued their winning streak with a big win against the Tri-City Storm on Friday night winning 3-1 and improved to 10-7-1-0. The Musketeers came into Saturday nights match off of a big loss from the Des Moines Buccaneers losing 9-3. Zach Driscoll returned to the lineup after being out for almost a month with an upper-body injury he suffered against the Green Bay Gamblers in November.

After a scoreless first and second period, Filip Suchy broke the ice when he sniped the puck past Matt Jurusik. Later in the third, the Lancers kept on the attack when Aaron Grounds got the game-winning goal and his first as a Lancer with 3:04 left in the period. Then, as Suchy opened the scoring he closed it with an open net to give the Lancers their sixth win in a row winning 3-1.

Driscoll was perfect in net stopping 18 of the 18 shots that he faced. Driscoll also gained his fourth shutout of the season. The last time had a 6 game win streak was in the 2014-15 season.
