Storm Tie up Finals

April 6, 2014 - National Basketball League of Canada (NBL Canada) - Windsor Express News Release

(WINDSOR, ONTARIO) Stefan Bonneau had 34 points, but it wasn't enough as the Express fell 104-102 to the Island Storm in Game 2 of the NBL Finals at the WFCU Centre on Sunday afternoon.

The loss by Windsor brings the series to a 1-1 tie with the next three games being played in Charlottetown.

Bonneau also had a game high 8 assists.

Windsor raced out to a 34-16 lead in the first quarter and had to fight off a 31 point attack by the Storm in the second to take a 55-47 advantage at half time.

The Island kept the heat on the the third, stinging Windsor with a 33-20 decision to take a 80-75 lead.

The Express took the fourth 27-24 and had a chance to tie the game at the final buzzer, but a missed layup sealed their fate.

Nick Okorie had 31 for the Island and Ed Jones had 22 points and 8 rebounds off the bench.

Game 3 is scheduled for Wednesday, April 9th at the Eastlink Centre in Charlottetown, PEI at 6:00pm Eastern/7:00pm Atlantic.

If necessary, the next Express home game will be Game 6 on Tuesday, April 15th at the WFCU Centre.
