Storm Return Home for Showdown with Musketeers

Kearney, NE. - The Tri-City Storm returns home to the Viaero Center tonight for a Friday night showdown with the Sioux City Musketeers. Tickets are still available by calling the Viaero Center Box Office at 308-338-8144 or by visiting www.StormHockey.com. Tonight's game is a $5 Kids Friday, and the team is currently offering a $20 ticket to attend tonight's game and tomorrow's game against Sioux City. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:05pm.

Tri-City (7-5-0-1) returns to action tonight following a 3-2 shootout loss to the Lincoln Stars on Wednesday night at the Ice Box. Parker Lindauer and Cole O'Hara scored Tri-City's goals in the road loss. Carter Mazur also scored the Storm's only goal during the shootout. Todd Scott made 19 saves on 21 shots during regulation and overtime but recorded the loss in net. Tri-City's power-play converted for a third consecutive game on Cole O'Hara's power-play goal with under two minutes to play in the 3rd period. The Storm's penalty kill finished the game 3/3 and remains the best penalty kill in the USHL at 94.1%. Tri-City enters tonight's game as the 4th place team in the Western Conference standings. Through the opening thirteen games of the 2020-2021 regular season, scoring leaders for the Storm include; Carter Mazur (6), Hunter Strand (4), Nick Portz (4), Victor Czerneckianair (3), Parker Lindauer (3), Mark Estapa (3), Cole McWard (2), Matthew Knies (2), and Adam Klapka (2). Following tonight's home game against Sioux City, the Storm return to action tomorrow night in another home game against the Musketeers at the Viaero Center.

Sioux City (5-7-0-0) travels to Kearney for the first time this season following a 3-1 home win over the Omaha Lancers on Saturday. Chase Bradley (2) and Christian Jimenez scored in the victory. Despite having a losing record of 5-7-0-0, the Musketeers have now won two of the last three games. Sioux City trials the Storm in the season series by two games after dropping games to Tri-City on December 18th and November 7th. The Musketeers enter the weekend series against the Storm in 7th place in the Western Conference standings. Goaltenders Akira Schmid and Alex Tracy have split time in net during the 2020-2021 season. Schmid has appeared in five games and has posted a record of 2-3-0-0. Tracy has appeared in six games and has recorded a record of 3-3-0-0. Scoring leaders for the Musketeers entering tonight's game include; Brian Carrabes (6), Justin Hryckowian (4), Chase Bradley (3), Cater Loney (3), Gabe Blanchard (3), Brenden Olson (3), Kirklan Irey (2), and Bennet Schimek (2).
