Storm Defeat Fargo 2-1

Tri-City Storm News Release


Fargo, ND - The Tri-City Storm defeated the Fargo Force by a final score of 2-1 Sunday night at Scheels Arena in Fargo, ND. Blais Richartz netted his 5th goal of the season in the 1st period, and Colton Kalezic scored his 4th goal of the year in the 3rd period to provide the offense for the Storm. Jake Barczewski made 38 saves in net to give the Storm its 19th win of the season. Tonight's game was the final game prior to the holiday break for Tri-City. The Storm return home to the Viaero Center on Friday, December 28th in a matchup with in state rival Lincoln.

Blais Richartz broke a scoreless tie in the final five minutes of the 1st period to give Tri-City its first lead of the game. The goal scored by Richartz was his 5th of the season and was assisted by Keaton Pehrson and Joe Berg. Tri-City outshot Fargo 12-10 in the opening period and carried a one goal lead into the 2nd period. No goals were scored in the 2nd period as the Force outshot the Storm 12-7. Tri-City took a one goal lead into the 3rd period.

Colton Kalezic scored his 4th goal of the year less than a minute into the 3rd period to give Tri-City a two goal advantage. Kalezic's goal was scored 57 seconds into the 3rd period and was assisted by Asa Kinnear and Cole McWard. Fargo's Ben Meyers scored his 18th goal of the year minutes later to cut the Storm lead in half. Tri-City held off a late rally from Fargo and held on for a 2-1 road win. The Storm won its 19th game of the season and held on to its Western Conference lead with 39 points in the standings.

Tri-City returns to action Friday, December 28th in a home matchup against the Lincoln Stars. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:05pm, with the broadcast beginning on Hockey TV and Storm Radio at 6:45pm. For home game tickets and more information on the Tri-City Storm, visit www.stormhockey.com
