Storm Continues to Give Back to Nonprofits During Hockey Fights Cancer Week
The Quad City Storm will kick off their Hockey Fights Cancer week with a Paint the Ice Event on Wednesday, February 6. From 10:00am until 7:00pm fans will be able to paint names on the ice in the color of the cancer either they or a loved one has fought or is fighting. The event is being presented by Ascentra Credit Union and KWQC TV-6. Everyone who attends will receive a $3 off coupon to the February 9th game.
The Storm, "the team that gives back," will then host a Hockey Fights Cancer game on Saturday, February 9 against arch rivals and fellow Illinois team, The Peoria Rivermen. Presented by Ascentra Credit Union and KWQC TV 6, the game will feature Storm multicolored sunglasses at the door for the first 1000 fans and a special cancer ribbon jersey auction after the game. Funds raised at the game will benefit Gilda's Club of the Quad Cities. The Storm's goal to raise $20,000 for Gilda's Club!
The Storm's Giving Back Campaign, #QCSTORMCARES, has raised over $43,000 in only 15 games with hopes to raise $100,000 for local charities before the season ends in April.
