Prince Albert Raiders News Release
Prince Albert, SK - Please see the following statement from the Prince Albert Raiders in regards to the Government of Saskatchewan's announced support of junior hockey in the province.
The Prince Albert Raiders are very thankful for the Government of Saskatchewan's support of junior hockey in the province following today's announcement. This enables the five Saskatchewan teams and 11 Saskatchewan teams in the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League to continue to be key pieces of the fabric of their local communities.
Members of the Raiders are leaders and mentors in the community, through on-ice and off-ice programs. As an organization, we have been able to provide for the future of our players by awarding more than $500,000 in scholarships over the past five years.
We understand the far-reaching effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on our province, including our healthcare system, frontline workers and the livelihoods of our fellow Saskatchewanians. Our hope is that getting back on the ice will bring a sense of normalcy and strengthen the sense of community in these unprecedented times.
