Lincoln Stars News Release

LINCOLN, NE-Entering week three of the 2018-19 season, the Stars have added goalie Tyler Johnson to their roster. Johnson, 20, brings with him an impressive resume complete with experience in junior and major junior hockey. Most recently, the towering 6-4 goalie from Amherst, NY played in the OHL for the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds.

In 23 games through the 2017-18 regular season, he posted a 2.36 goals against average and a .912 save percentage. His efforts helped the Greyhounds secure the Dave Pinkney Trophy, awarded to the OHL team with the lowest goals against average. Prior to his time with the Sault Ste. Marie, Johnson made 34 appearances with the London Knights, also a member of the OHL.

Johnson will join Jacob Mucitelli in the Stars crease as the team continues its quest for a third Clark Cup. The Stars currently hold a record of 2-1-1-0 and will host a contest against the Dubuque Fighting Saints this Friday, October 12th at 7:05 PM.
