Stars Acquire Mareik Isom

January 28, 2019 - NBA G League (G League) - Salt Lake City Stars News Release

SALT LAKE CITY - The Salt Lake City Stars, the official NBA G League affiliate of the Utah Jazz, have acquired forward Mareik Isom from the available player pool, it was announced today. In a related move, the team waived guard Trey Lewis due to a season-ending right thumb injury.

Isom (6-9, 215, Texas) appeared in six games with the Wisconsin Herd this season, averaging 1.3 points and 2.8 rebounds in 10.5 minutes. The Texas product played professionally in Canada last season, averaging 12.3 points, 4.0 rebounds and 1.6 assists in 42 games (23 starts) with the Saint John Riptide of the National Basketball League of Canada. Isom competed collegiately at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock before finishing his college career at Texas in 2016-17.

Lewis (6-2, 185, Louisville) appeared in 14 games with the Stars this season, averaging 12.6 points, 2.4 assists and 1.7 rebounds in 22.9 minutes. Lewis sustained the right thumb injury during the Stars' game on Jan. 18 at Santa Cruz. He joined the Stars this season after participating in training camp with the Jazz.
