THUNDER HOST 2nd LARGEST CROWD IN FRANCHISE HISTORY

The Thunder set the franchise regular season attendance record and hosted the second largest crowd in Waterfront Park history on Wednesday as 8,380 fans watched the Thunder defeat the Binghamton Mets 4-3. Derek Jeter, with the Thunder on a rehabilitation assignment from the Yankees, went 1-for-3 with a single in the game.

Wednesday's attendance is the second largest total in Waterfront Park history, trailing only the Boston Red Sox vs. Thunder exhibition game on May 27, 1998 (8,602). Wednesday's attendance total broke the previous regular season record of 7,943 set on July 17, 2002 against the Norwich Navigators.

"We are fortunate to have someone with the character and ability of Derek Jeter here at Waterfront Park to play in front of our fans," said Thunder General Manger Rick Brenner. "We have the best fans in baseball and we are thrilled so many turned out to see Derek Jeter tonight."

CLETE BOYER AUTOGRAPH SESSION ANNOUNCED

Sixteen year Major League veteran Clete Boyer will be the Thunder's special guest at Waterfront Park on June 28. The former New York Yankee will be available for autographs. Boyer played for Kansas City, the Yankees and the Atlanta Braves during his career that spanned from 1955-1971.

JETER, THUNDER RALLY TO BEAT METS, 4-3

In front of the second largest crowd in the history of Waterfront Park, N.Y. Yankees shorstop Derek Jeter made his first rehab start for the Trenton Thunder. Jeter was 1-for-3 as Trenton won the game in the bototm of the ninth, 4-3.

Jeter, who hasn't played since Opening Day when he separated his left shoulder, reached base on an error in the 1st Inning, grounded out in the 3rd Inning and singled in the 5th Inning.

Neither team scored through the first seven innings. Binghamton starter Joe Cole worked six shutout innings. Thunder starter Chien-ming Wang carried a shutout into the 8th Inning.
