Stamps to Face Esks in Labour Day Classic

For the first time this season, the Calgary Stampeders will meet the Edmonton Eskimos as the provincial rivals square off in the annual Labour Day Classic.
The Stampeders sit atop the CFL standings with an 8-1 record while the Eskimos (6-4) trail Calgary by four points and currently occupy second place in the West Division.
The Labour Day edition of the Battle of Alberta was first played in Calgary in 1959 and the Stamps and Esks have met a total of 52 times. The Red and White lead the all-time series 26-25-1 and have won the six most recent Labour Day meetings. Including all opponents, a total of 62 Labour Day games have been played in Calgary over the years, with the Stampeders posting a 36-25-1 record.
In Week 11, the Stamps remained unbeaten at home in 2018 with a 39-26 win over the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. The Eskimos dropped a 25-24 decision in Hamilton and are 2-3 on the road this season, including 0-2 in their last two as the visitor.
A second and final meeting will take place on Saturday, Sept. 8, for the traditional Labour Day rematch at Edmonton's Commonwealth Stadium.
Gridiron Gardens
The Gridiron Gardens pre-game tailgate party gets under way at 11 a.m.
As part of the Stamps' recognition of the Canadian Armed Forces on Monday, a military ATV vehicle from the Mewata Armoury will be on display.
The Gridiron Gardens will also feature face painters, inflatables, interactive games, player autographs, a Stamps BBQ tent, a photo booth with free printouts, a live DJ and partner activations.
Halftime
Members of the Royal Canadian Air Force will be participating in a bumper ball battle.
Special guest
Former Stampeders quarterback Jeff Garcia, a four-time all-star and Grey Cup champion, will be welcomed back to Calgary with a tribute to his record-breaking performance in the 1995 Labour Day Classic.
Also
The Royal Canadian Air Force will conduct their annual CF-18 Hornet flypast prior to kickoff. Also, fans are encouraged to visit the Stamps Store and concourse kiosks throughout the game to purchase a limited-edition Stampeders adidas adjustable digital camo cap for $30, with part of the proceeds being directed to Support Our Troops.
