Calgary Stampeders News Release
Calgary Stampeders fans have come through again, donating 64,502 lbs. of food to the Purolator Tackle Hunger program for the benefit of the Calgary Food Bank before and during Saturday's game against the Montreal Alouettes.
That raises the all-time total in the 16-year history of the program to more than 1,170,000 pounds.
"Thank you to all of the generous Stamps fans who donated to the 2018 Purolator Tackle Hunger food drive," said Derek Dennis, the Stampeders' player representative for the Tackle Hunger program. "I know that this year's total of 64,502 lbs. of food will go a long way in helping the hungry here in Calgary."
Fans making donations were entered into a draw to win an autographed jersey and also had the opportunity to pose for photos with the Grey Cup.
Stampeders players and personnel will be visiting the Food Bank in the near future to help sort all the food that was collected as part of this year's program.
