Mississippi RiverKings News Release
SOUTHAVEN---The St JohnÂ’s Maple Leafs of the American Hockey League have recalled RiverKings goalie J.F Racine. This is the third time since his assignment to Memphis on November 25 that he has been recalled. The RiverKings received the call from St JohnÂ’s after their game last night. Racine was in the nets for their 4-2 loss to Oklahoma City at the DeSoto Civic Center last night and then had to catch a flight to Cleveland for the LeafsÂ’ game tonight. To fill the open goalie spot, the RiverKings signed Brett Abel. The 34 year-old Abel played college hockey at the University of New Hampshire and two seasons in the E.C.H.L. with the Wheeling Thunderbirds and the Columbus Chill.
The RiverKings host Laredo tonight at 7:05. It is Miller Lite Nascar Night with an appearance by the Rusty Wallace show car.
