Sporting Kansas City News Release
In collaboration with First Team partner Anheuser-Busch, Sporting Kansas City announced today the launch of Sporting Argyle Amber Ale, a commemorative craft beer from Breckenridge Brewery.
Sporting Argyle Amber Ale is inspired by "A Force for Good," a new philanthropic campaign in which Sporting Kansas City joins forces with partners to serve communities across the region. Over the course of 2021, a portion of profits from Sporting Argyle Amber Ale will go to Sporting Community Kitchen, one of the primary platforms of "A Force for Good."
Sporting Community Kitchen kicked off in April 2020, distributing over 30,000 free meals to Kansas City residents affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. The initiative will return in a new format for 2021 as Sporting provides meals for children and families in need.
Sporting Argyle Amber Ale will be available for the first time at Children's Mercy Park on Saturday when Sporting Kansas City hosts Houston Dynamo FC in a highly anticipated Western Conference rivalry match. In addition to being served at Sporting home matches, Sporting Argyle Amber Ale will also be available beginning Saturday at each of the club's official pub partners and at all Buffalo Wild Wings locations in the Kansas City region.
Blending pale, chocolate and caramel malts with a touch of bittering hops, Sporting Argyle Amber Ale is a well-rounded and flavorful beer for all times of the season. The clean, crisp draft will be further accentuated by a first-of-its-kind, 10-inch tall foosball player tap handle crafted in collaboration with Kansas City studio Mekanika Design and styled after Sporting's new Fountain City Foosball campaign.
Saturday's match against Houston will mark the first time that Children's Mercy Park welcomes a full-capacity crowd since March 7, 2020. As part of the occasion, Sporting will honor frontline healthcare workers by giving 1,000 match tickets to local medical professionals. Supporters can secure tickets to the 7:30 p.m. CT showdown at SeatGeek.com.
