Spitfires Defeated 2-1 by Oshawa

The Spitfires travelled to Oshawa for a matchup with the Generals who just clinched a playoff berth. This was the second and final meeting between the two teams, with the Generals taking the first matchup in Windsor 6-3.

In the first period, there was no scoring in the frame as both teams traded chances. Windsor led in shots 10-9 after the frame.

In the second period, the Generals got on the board first on the powerplay just five minutes into the period. But the Spitfires struck back five minutes later. Cuylle scored his 18th of the season, and Rafkin has the lone assist. We were tied after 40 minutes of play. The Spitfires led in shots 27-21.

In the third period, the Generals scored on the powerplay halfway through to make it 2-1. The Spitfires threw everything at them, including the kitchen sink, but the Generals goalie stood tall stopping all 12 shots in the final period. The Generals took this one 2-1. Shots were 39-33 in favour of the Spitfires.

The Spitfires' next game is home at the WFCU Centre Thursday, February 27th when the Soo comes to town for a huge matchup. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:05 pm.
