
Spitfires Complete 2009 Training Camp

(Windsor) The Windsor Spitfires opened their 2009 training camp this past Friday. 48 players participated in the first day of camp and took part in a series of practices and games for fans in attendance at the WFCU Centre. Team Red opened the camp as they practiced at 9 a.m. and the first intra-squad game featured Team Blue against Team White at 10:15 a.m. Team White defeated Team Blue 6-3 (see below for scoring summary, game was two 30-minute periods).

Day two of the camp opened as Team Blue took to the ice for a 9 a.m. practice while Team Red faced off against Team White in the camp's third intra-squad game at 10:15 a.m. Team Red defeated Team White 4-1 to run their record to a perfect 2-0 (see below for scoring summary, games was two 30-minute periods).

The camp concluded today as the Windsor Spitfires travelled to Leamington as Team Blue took on Team Red in front of roughly 800 fans at the Leamington Kinsmen Recreation Complex. The rosters were again adjusted as many Spitfire regulars were held out of the lineup. The game served as a showcase for Spitfire prospects. Team Red blanked Team Blue 2-0 to win the contest.
