Round Rock Express News Release

ROUND ROCK, Texas - Rehabbing Kansas City Royals RF Jorge Soler powered the Omaha Storm Chasers (9-6) to a 6-2 win over the Round Rock Express (7-9) on Friday night at Dell Diamond. Soler hit a three-run homer in the fourth inning.

Express RHP Allen Webster (0-2, 8.62) suffered his second straight loss after allowing three runs on a total of five hits in 5.1 innings of work. The righty struck out two and walked one. Omaha RHP Jonathan Dziedzic (3-1, 1.09) turned in a quality start, limiting Round Rock to just one run on seven hits in 7.1 innings. Dziedzic recorded seven strikeouts without a walk in the win.

For the third night in a row, the E-Train scored in the first inning but failed to hold on to the early lead. CF Drew Robinson lined a leadoff triple off the wall in center field then raced home on an ensuing Cesar Puello groundout two hitters later.

Omaha's big blow came with one swing of the bat in the fourth inning. CF Billy Burns and SS Ramon Torres teamed up for a pair of singles to open the frame. In the first game of his rehab assignment, Soler demolished the first pitch of his at-bat, lining a three-run homer to the left field berm.

Storm Chasers 1B Ryan O'Hearn added to his team's lead with a solo home run in the ninth inning off Express reliever RHP Jose Valdespina. C Cam Gallagher and DH Dean Anna then teamed up for a pair of knocks, the second of which scored the team's fifth run. After issuing a double and two walks, Valdespina was replaced with RHP Jaye Chapman who committed a bases-loaded balk to force a run home.

The E-Train attempted to rally in the ninth inning. C A.J. Jimenez singled and advanced to third on a fielding error by Burns, then SS Josh Wilson drove in his first run of the year with a sacrifice fly to center. However, it proved to be too little, too late as Omaha held on to claim the 6-2 decision.

Round Rock now welcomes the Iowa Cubs to town for a four-game set. Neither teams' starting pitcher has been announced. First pitch at Dell Diamond is scheduled for 7:05 p.m.
