Veteran MASL MIdfielder Added To Bolster Already Potent Offensive Attack

San Diego Returns To Action On February 9 At Tacoma

SAN DIEGO (Thursday, February 1, 2018 - MR #17-18) - The 14-time champion San Diego Sockers announced today the signing of Major Arena Soccer League (MASL) veteran midfielder Jamie Lovegrove to bolster the offense for the playoff chase. The transaction was made before the MASL 20-player playoff roster deadline of February 1.

Lovegrove last played for the Dallas Sidekicks during the 2016-17 MASL season. In his 55-game MASL career, he has compiled 81 goals and 42 assists for 123 points. He is expected to add firepower to an offense that is averaging over seven goals per game.

He played two years at Richland College where he played in 28 matches in the midfield; he accounted for five goals and four assists. Lovegrove earned NSCAA NJCAA Division III All-America honors.

The Sockers are in the midst of their bye week and will return to play on Friday, February 9, 7:05 p.m. against the Tacoma Stars in the Pacific Northwest. San Diego will host Sonora on Sunday, February 11, 5:05 p.m. at Valley View Casino Center for Alumni Night. Twenty-eight legend, champions, and alumni are set to appear for the halftime game and festivities.
