Snappers Shutout for Sixth Time

The Snappers were unable to plate a single run on Sunday afternoon, falling to the Lansing Lugnuts, 8-0. Beloit's offense disappeared as they were only able to muster four base hits all day long.

The Lugnuts got going quickly in the top of the first inning. Three runs on only one hit allowed the Lugnuts to take the early, 3-0 advantage. Lansing was aided by two hit by pitches and a walk from Beloit starter, Brian Kirwan.

Lansing scored three more runs in the top of the second inning to take control. The inning had three hits from the Lugnuts and one walk from Kirwan, giving Lansing the 6-0 lead after one and a half.

The Lugnuts went on to score single runs in the top of the sixth and seventh innings to push their lead to 8-0, a score they would eventually win by.

Brian Kirwan picked up the loss going one and two thirds innings allowing six runs on four hits. Kirwan added two strikeouts in the loss.

Left fielder, Eli Tintor, had two hits for the Snappers and improved his average to .292.

The loss drops the Snappers' second half record to 26-22, good for third place in the Western Division.
