Sky Blue FC News Release
Point Pleasant Beach, N.J. - Sky Blue FC of the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) announced today that it will be joining Pocono Raceway and INDYCAR for an afternoon of fun on Jenkinson's Boardwalk this Wednesday afternoon.
"Wednesday will be a really fun time for the professional athletes of Sky Blue FC and INDYCAR, as well as the fans who head out to Jenkinson's Boardwalk," said Tony Novo, Sky Blue FC President & General Manager. "One of the greatest elements about New Jersey is our access to the beaches, and there is no better place to take advantage of that than at Jenks in Point Pleasant Beach. The staff from Pocono Raceway, INDYCAR and Jenks have all been so much fun in our organization of this event. Personally, I cannot wait to see what happens when our athletes meet the drivers on the bumper cars!"
A group of Sky Blue FC players will be joined on Wednesday by Verizon IndyCar Series drivers Tony Kanaan and Matheus Leist at Jenkinson's Boardwalk, where they will all play a series of games and jump on a few rides together. Throughout the friendly competitions, fans are all encouraged to come be a part of the activities, which will occur from 1:30 p.m. until 4:30 p.m. along Jenkinson's Boardwalk in Point Pleasant Beach, N.J.
"We are looking forward to Wednesday's ABC Supply 500 promotional event at Jenkinson's Boardwalk," said Ben May, President of Pocono Raceway. "The family owned-and-operated amusement and attractions center is a perfect setting to highlight the family-driven activities fans can expect to see next week during our Verizon IndyCar Series race weekend. The Jenkinson's team have been so great to work with as have the amazing staff from Sky Blue FC. The drivers, Tony Kanaan and Matheus Leist, the Sky Blue FC players, media and guests are going to have a blast in Point Pleasant Beach on August 8. And, to all race fans attending, be sure to stop by the Pocono Raceway display on the boardwalk for a chance to walk away with free ABC Supply 500 race weekend tickets."
Pocono Raceway will also have a promotional vehicle parked on the boardwalk this Wednesday, where their team will be available to provide information about their stadium and the upcoming ABC Supply 500 on Sunday, August 19.
"This is going to be a really enjoyable time at Jenkinson's on Wednesday," said Toby Wolf, Director of Marketing for Jenkinson's. "We look forward to hosting the Sky Blue FC players and INDYCAR drivers as two different worlds of professional sports come together for a fun afternoon on the boardwalk."
