Sioux City Bandits Announce the Resignation of Head Coach Carl Reinhardt

October 28, 2003 - Champions Professional Indoor Football League (CPIFL) - Sioux City Bandits News Release

(October 28, 2003 - Sioux City, IA) The Sioux City Bandits of the National Indoor Football League today announce the resignation of Head Coach Carl Reinhardt effective last Friday, October 24, 2003. Reinhardt has resigned due to personal and family reasons.

Carl Reinhardt was a player for the Sioux City Attack in the IFL during the 2000 season, when his season was cut short by a season ending knee injury. During the first Bandits season in 2001, he was an Assistant Coach for then Head Coach Phil Karpuk, four games into the season Reinhardt was named head coach after Karpuk was relieved of his duties. Reinhardt and his staff finished the season with a record of 4-6 after starting the season 0-4. In the 2002 season, the Bandits finished with a record of 9-5, just missing the NIFL Pacific Conference Playoffs. Just last season the Bandits finished with a record of 6-8 after starting the season 4-1. Overall, in his Bandits coaching career, Reinhardt had a record of 19-19. Carl Reinhardt will continue to assist the Bandits in a new role as Player Recruitment Coordinator. He will help get players to come to Sioux City to play for the Bandits.

Reinhardt quoting, "I want to thank all the owners and Bandits organization for their support and all the fan support during my 2 plus years as Head Coach and wish the team good luck during the 2004 season. Sometimes things happen in your life that make football not seem so important and that is where I am at now with my family. I am glad I can still be involved in some capacity with the Bandits." Reinhardt is a native of Cherokee, Iowa and played his college football at South Dakota State University in Brookings.
