Buffalo Bandits General Manager Kurt Silcott was named the National Lacrosse LeagueÂ’s General Manager of the Year for 2002-03 season. The National Lacrosse League awards are determined by a vote of the Governors, General Managers and Head Coaches of the twelve member clubs.

“Anytime an individual is recognized by his peers for an accomplishment it is very significant,” said Dan Dipofi, Buffalo Bandits Governor. “I’ve known Kurt for 10 years and I’m happy to be working him and this organization. I couldn’t be prouder of his and this team’s accomplishments this year. He and Darris Kilgour have built a first-class organization and we expect continued success in the future.”

Silcott directed a series of off-season moves, that included the hiring of head coach Darris Kilgour, which resulted in the Bandits improving to a record of 12-4 from the previous yearÂ’s mark of 8-8. The Bandits reached the second round of the playoffs for the first time since 1997.

Silcott also brought in several new players who contributed significantly on offense. During the year Silcott acquired forwards Mark Steenhuis, Daune Jacobs, Jason Crosbie, Kerry Susheski, Lidnsay Plunkett, and Aime Caines.
