Sharks Sign Wide Receiver Jamar Howard
JACKSONVILLE - Jamar Howard (6'4, 215) signs with the Jacksonville Sharks for his fifth year of arena/indoor football. In 2013, Howard signed with the Cleveland Gladiators, where he had 39 receptions for 420 yards and six touchdowns. In 2014, Howard moved to Portland, where he played for the Thunder and racked up 44 catches for 644 yards and nine touchdowns. 2015 was his most impressive year where he got 51 catches for 711 yards and 14 touchdowns with the Thunder. When the Thunder changed team name to the Steel in 2016, Howard had six receptions for 37 yards and two touchdowns.
Howard finished his college career at Central Missouri. Howard started college at the University of Cincinnati. In 2009, Howard played in four games. In those games, Howard had three catches for 52 yards.In 2011, Howard played in 12 games. In those 12 games, he caught 71 passes for 1,199 yards and 13 touchdowns.
Howard is a native of Cincinnati, Ohio and was a wide receiver at Winthrow High School in Cincinnati, Ohio. In His time in high school, Howard caught 38 passes for 937 yards and 10 touchdowns.
